2018 in Review

Capturing a few thoughts from that website that I’m leaving in the dustbin of history.

June 20, 2018, 5:33 AM – I hope the start of your day is just as awesome as mine.

May 18, 2018 – Edinburgh seems like a decent place. Just a wee bit of architectural history around here.

May 18, 2018 – Scotch Ale is my favourite type of brew.

Just traveled 24 hours to Edinburgh to visit the BrewDog, and the closest they have is a Dogma Wee Heavy in a bottle. Oh, the humanity

May 26, 2018 – Came a long way to Bruges, and then it took forever to find the De Garre bar, and then I ordered the wrong beer. Guess I’ll have to stay for a second one.

May 2018 – In my spare time, I went to Brugge. Where did you go?

June 2, 2018 – A happy day in Tennessee with a couple of happy campers.

Congratulations to the happy couple. Friends from Oregon, Minnesota, Wisconsin, California, and PEI all came together in Knoxville, Tennessee.

September 2018 – Grammarist says that it’s now OK to say “in regards to” instead of “in regard to.”

That ticks me off. Just because lots of people get it wrong doesn’t make it right. The dumbing down continues to accelerate. Best regards to other traditionalists out there. I still think they’re wrong about this.

In regards to, but with the s crossed out. Also, irregardless, but with the ir at the beginning crossed out

March 26, 2018 – Helping coach the high school tennis teams.

First day of practice for the High School Boys Tennis Team. Way back when, we switched from white tennis balls to yellow. Might this be the reason?

Dec 2018 – At the end of the day, I will have heard the phrase “at the end of the day” several dozen times.

TV news talking heads need to make a resolution at the end of the year, pledging no more “at the end of the day”

at the end of the day it's the end of the day

July 19, 2018 – There’s over 1500 moose on Isle Royale.

Just spent 3 days there and didn’t see one. I was on the lookout all the time.

May 2018 – I should be receiving the 6-year brick any day now. Build That Wall!

July 23, 2018 – 94 degrees at 8:30 PM. The lazy river is calling me. D2L Fusion in Houston.

December 6, 2018 – As a Fascist Governor & gerrymandered Wisconsin state legislature take their anti-democratic actions, I’m reminded that Scott Walker cost my family $1000s in add’l out-of-pocket health care costs, conned us all about foreign Fox’s, and de-funded education.
